Analysis of the defeat
We're coming off a great game, a convincing victory. We need a winning streak. Playing at home again was both our desire and an opportunity to achieve that. We started the game well, with the team well positioned, marking well for much of the first half. It's a shame we weren't able to open the scoring. We know Corinthians is a top-notch team and that they would come expecting to capitalize on their opponent's mistakes. Our eagerness to win at home has been hampering us a bit. We made mistakes playing against a top-notch team.
Fan reaction
The fans' reaction is understandable. Playing at home and losing 3-0, there's no way to be satisfied. None of us are. Fans have the right to express dissatisfaction. We're here to seek positive results, but we're wavering. We're all quite upset about this defeat.
substitutions
Alan's introduction was to help Canteros build up the play. Paulinho's introduction was because he wanted to bring in a more rested player who could man-mark Renato Augusto and get forward.
Focus on Nautical
We usually do that too when we win, thinking about the next match. Our lives are like that. Of course, we're quite frustrated today, but we have to react, we will react, we have the capacity to do so. This is our opportunity; let's go for the win.
Return of Emerson and Guerrero
They're experienced and well-coordinated players. We saw their contribution to the team when they played together. But that's no excuse (for the defeat). We could have done better today. We demonstrated that for much of the first half. But then we made mistakes, and that benefited Corinthians' game plan of exploiting their opponent's mistakes.
Motivation
Let's talk about everything that happened and analyze it. They have the ability to react, because they've already demonstrated it. The reaction will certainly happen. What everyone expects, especially the fans, is to see the team win and play well. This championship is about consistency, and we've been inconsistent, but we'll respond positively.
