After this morning's training session at Granja Comary in Teresópolis, coach Cuca assured that Flamengo is fully capable of recovering from its last two defeats in the Brazilian Championship. For the coach, the next three home games will be crucial for Flamengo's advancement in the competition.

"The goal now is to give the team a tactical makeover. Let's get back to our standard. Just because we lost Kleberson doesn't mean the team has fallen apart. We have to find a solution. These nine days are over. Football is dynamic, and we have three home games that could put us in a much better position in the Brazilian Championship."

Cuca revealed that two meetings were held at Granja Comary. The first included the entire football department. The second was just between the committee and the players.

"We had two meetings yesterday, one with the entire team and another with the coach and the players. It's hard to say which was better. It was an open, necessary meeting, an airing of feelings, and an opportunity for everyone to speak their mind. Whenever we have issues resolved internally, it's beneficial."

The red-black coach said he trusts the quality of the squad and guaranteed that he intends to continue in charge of Fla.

"Bruno made a mistake against Coritiba, but he was the one who practically gave us our third championship. Angelim made a mistake, but he's the most consistent player and the one we trust the most. I also have the credit for being a champion. I separate things. A month ago, I was called by the chairman of the board and honored. Today the team is in a difficult situation, but I'm not shaken. A few years ago, I would have thrown in the towel and tried to avoid the problem. Today, I see the problem for what it is. I don't want to leave Flamengo under any circumstances because I'm at the biggest club in Brazil, with the best fans in the world."

Cuca stated that his relationship with the players is very good.

"I get along well with all the players, and I think they all get along with me, each to their own degree. When I was champion, everything was fine, and now there's a problem? When you make mistakes in life, you have to hold your head up high, because everyone makes mistakes. You need greatness to recover and move forward."

Cuca said he is counting on Adriano to help Flamengo secure a spot in the Libertadores.

"Every coach would love to have Adriano. Why wouldn't I, who have him, want to make the most of him? I want him at his best, helping Flamengo. I want to see Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores. If I was feeling down, I'm lighter now and ready to regain the confidence I lost in the last two games."

The red-black coach made an assessment of Fla's latest defeats, against Sport and Coritiba.

"In football, everything changes so quickly. The pace is incredible. Until the Sport match, we had a standard; we were three-time champions, playing well. Then we played 26 excellent minutes against Sport. We could have won, but we conceded four goals in eight minutes, which no one expected. We came back, had problems that were made public, and the consequences followed. On Sunday, we didn't perform well tactically, and that's mostly my fault. This can give the impression of a lack of desire. We were poorly organized, and Coritiba was far superior."
