Cuca confirms starting lineup
Coach praises Marlon, Jorbison and Fierro, and says that the red-black team will be strong to face Barueri, tomorrow, at Maracanã.
By Flamengo Archive - inFollowing this Tuesday afternoon's tactical training session at Gávea, coach Cuca confirmed the starting lineup that will face Barueri tomorrow at the Maracanã, in the Brazilian Championship. Marlon, Jorbison, and Fierro are the coach's new additions for the match against the São Paulo team.
“Marlon is a player who came up through the club's youth system and knows Flamengo's culture well. He was playing well in Greece and has been with us for almost 40 days. He trained well these past few days and will get this opportunity. Jorbison is also a very good player. He's young, but he also knows Flamengo well because he's been here for almost three years. I opted for Fierro because he's been training very well and is a more experienced player. He deserves this chance. I preferred not to include Camacho because the team already has many young players.”
Flamengo: Bruno, Leonardo Moura, Marlon, Ronaldo Angelim and Jorbison; Airton, Willians, Kléberson and Fierro; Emerson and Adriano
Despite the large number of absences, Cuca believes Flamengo will put on a good performance.
"I have a lot of faith in these boys. They are all good players. We're playing at home, in front of our fans, and we have everything we need to get back to winning ways."
Cuca praised defender David, Flamengo's new signing for the 2009 season, quite a bit.
"He's young, but he already has some experience. He was playing for Panathinaikos in Greece, and he's coming to contribute. He had a good spell at Palmeiras and has already played for the under-20 national team. He's going to help us a lot."
