Cuéllar: We're going to achieve great things this year
Midfielder still denied leaving Flamengo and guaranteed that he wants to stay at the club
By John Peter Granette - inFlamengo returned this Tuesday (21) to begin preparations for the match against Vitória, valid for the Brasileirão. After the activity, midfielder Cuéllar gave a press conference at Ninho do Urubu.
"(My desire to stay) hasn't changed at all. It's normal for players to sit down with their representatives to talk about everything. I just renewed my contract until 2022 and I don't want to leave until the end of this first contract. I thank Flamengo for everything they've supported me and given me in football. My feelings haven't changed. I want to win titles here; that's what everyone wants when they're at a big club. It's normal to talk about a little bit of everything. My desire to stay at Flamengo remains," the number 8 assured.
The red-black team returns to the field next Thursday, at 19:30 pm, at Maracanã, when they face Vitória.

Irritation during training
"I was angry with myself, that's normal. They're trying to create a generalized fight within Flamengo that doesn't exist. We have a very qualified squad and I ask anyone who's trying to stir things up to stop. Our team is surrounded by good things and we want to achieve great things with Flamengo."
Fight in the locker room with Rodinei
"Totally false. They're trying to disrupt a very good atmosphere in the locker room. I don't even want to think there are people like that. Rodinei is my friend, my teammate, and I admire him greatly. I've been training with him for three years and I was even sad to have to blame him during the game. He always wants to give his best for Flamengo, and everything stayed on the field; it's normal.
Wear the captain's armband
"I didn't imagine it; I worked hard to get to this moment. It was a difficult year for me and my family without playing. I worked hard to get into the starting lineup and play for an important team like Flamengo. I had the willpower to stay here and strive for the best for the club every day. All athletes go through these moments."
cheering
"The support of the fans is very important to me. I just renewed my contract. If any important offer comes in, it has to go through Flamengo first, as they are the club I employ. I'm very happy here, and so is my family. I'm showing my potential, and anyone who says I'm asking to leave is wrong. I don't want it. They want to make a fuss where there isn't any. We still have many good things to achieve."
