Cuéllar highlights the importance of the work week before the match against Atlético-MG

Flamengo continues to train hard at Ninho do Urubu and the total focus is on the duel against Atlético-MG, for the Brazilian Championship. Before training this Friday (21), midfielder Cuéllar gave a press conference and spoke about the importance of having the week free to prepare for the game against the Minas Gerais team at Maracanã.
"Professional athletes need rest to be able to train hard during the week. For me, this time was important to work and try to put into practice the coach's ideas for the games. We always try to rest as much as possible. The Brazilian Championship is tough, and resting to train well is very important. We managed to do that throughout this week."
Analyzing the duel that will take place next Sunday (23), at 16 pm, at Maracanã, the Colombian athlete praised the opposing team and highlighted the importance of the three points to remain strong in the fight for the Brasileirão title.
"Atlético-MG is a very competitive team with a quality squad. They like to keep possession and work the game without rushing. We have to be careful and at the same time create opportunities for our strikers to score goals. We have managed to create chances in games, but unfortunately we haven't scored the goals needed to win matches. We are on the right track, but we have a lot to improve. It's important to win to regain confidence, and once the ball starts going in again, it will continue to go in until the end of the year."
Coach Mauricio Barbieri will be without midfielder Diego. Serving an automatic suspension, the number 10 will not be on the field next Sunday to face Atlético-MG.
"The weight of this absence is immense. Everyone knows Diego. Whoever replaces him will be ready for the commitment that comes with playing for Flamengo. Everyone has the quality to represent this great club. Whoever comes in will be ready to play a great game and help achieve a good result on Sunday."
