Leandro Damião has signed a one-year contract with Flamengo and will be presented after activities this Thursday (14), at the George Helal Training Center, in Vargem Grande. In Brazil, the striker has played for Internacional, Cruzeiro and Santos.
The player from Paraná, about to turn 27 years old, experienced his best phase with Internacional, when he won the awards for Best Striker of the Campeonato Gaúcho (2011 and 2012), Best Player of the Campeonato Gaúcho 2011, Top Scorer of the Campeonato Gaúcho (2011 - 17 goals and 2012 - 11 goals), Top Scorer of the Recopa Sudamericana 2011 (3 goals) and the Arthur Friedenreich Award 2011 (38 goals).
Also with Internacional, he won the Libertadores Cup (2010), the Recopa Sudamericana (2011) and three consecutive Campeonato Gaúcho titles (2011/2012/2013). For the Brazilian National Team, Damião was the top scorer at the London 2012 Olympic Games, with six goals, and won the silver medal.
