This Saturday night had a name and a surname. Leandro Damião was the man behind Flamengo's rout of Portuguesa, scoring three of the Mais Querido's five goals in a 5-1 victory that marked Flamengo's debut in the Taça Rio.
Still on the field, the number 18 explained his celebration of his second goal, recalling a classic 80s movie. "The celebration was from The Karate Kid, for a friend of mine who is a teacher and helped me in the past," said Damião, who celebrated his great performance in the match. "I'm very happy with the three goals today and that we achieved this result. My teammates have been helping a lot. It's a very skilled group, and that's reflected on the field," he exclaimed.
Starting next week, the focus will return to the Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone. In the second round of the competition's group stage, Mais Querido will face Universidade Católica on Wednesday (15), in Chile, with the ball rolling from 21:45 pm.
