After renewing his contract with Flamengo for four seasons, defender David awaits his first opportunity as a starter for the red-and-black team. And in Tuesday's (August 24.08th) training session, the number 14 trained among the eleven in the part of the activity that was open to the press.

The player still doesn't know if he will start against Atlético Mineiro on Thursday (August 26.08th), but he guarantees he will do his best to perform if selected.

"I'm waiting for a chance. Let's see what Rogério decides. I'm here to help and, if he chooses me, I'll give my all and do everything I can to help Flamengo win," he said.

Physically well-prepared, the defender says he is ready to return to playing and believes this is fundamental for all players who have not been getting playing time. According to him, the strength of the squad is essential for success in the Brazilian Championship.

"You have to be prepared. We're going to have a run of 15 games in a short period of time, and those who haven't been playing need to be ready to make the most of their opportunities," he concluded.
