Itu (SP) - David still doesn't know if he'll stay at Flamengo for the rest of the season. The defender's contract with the club ended on the 30th, and while Flamengo can't agree on an extension with Panathinaikos of Greece, which holds the player's rights, he has been training with the rest of the group in Itu.

Deeply identified with the group and the fans, David doesn't hide his anxiety about the renewal and guarantees that his intention is to stay.

"I'm worried about being out of the games, but we know it can work out. It's anxiety-inducing, but I'll avoid dwelling on the bad things. I'll do my part to help the team when everything is resolved," he said.

Changes in the Greek club's leadership are among the factors that have prevented a deal from being finalized. Despite this, the player is confident the situation will have a happy ending.

"There's a lot to sort out at Panathinaikos, so my situation isn't being resolved quickly. That's why my agent has already sent a representative to take care of everything. I hope everything works out so I can stay," the defender added.
