David happy to return to the fields
Defender hopes to continue being useful to Flamengo in the final stretch of the 2009 Brasileirão

Flamengo's number 40 was undaunted by the responsibility of taking the field in the decisive match against Náutico in Pernambuco, and with a solid performance, he helped the Flamengo defense remain unbeaten for another match.
\In addition to the away win, the red-black defender celebrated the fact that he kept the defense undefeated in eight of the 11 games he played since being hired.
\"I was happy with these numbers and knowing that I was on the field and was able to help Flamengo keep eight games without conceding a goal. That's a huge victory for anyone who plays in defense. It was exciting to be back playing after the surgery and everything I went through. The doctors predicted I wouldn't be back on the field until next year. But I dedicated myself to the treatment and, thank God, I was able to recover," said David.
\Defender David started in Flamengo's victories over Corinthians (1-0), Fluminense (2-0) and Náutico (2-0) and in the goalless draws against Internacional and Fluminense, the latter valid for the Copa Sudamericana. In addition, he came on during the matches against Santo André (3-0), Coritiba (3-0) and Atlético Paranaense (0-0). David also participated in the matches against Grêmio, Cruzeiro and Fluminense, the latter in the second leg of the Copa Sudamericana.
\"Flamengo is in a great moment, they're fighting for the title, and I want to be useful. We'll try to do our part. We have a tough game against Goiás, and I hope everything goes well," the defender added.
