The Flamengo squad's mindset for next Sunday's (October 10.10th) match is singular: to win. Even playing away from home, against an opponent that is usually difficult to face, Avaí, in Santa Catarina, the red-and-black team wants to secure its second consecutive victory in the Brasileirão, coming off a positive result against Atlético Goianiense midweek.

Defender David believes that the good performance against Dragão will be useless if the team fails to repeat that success in the match against the team from Florianópolis.

"This victory against Atlético-GO will be useless if we don't get another good result against Avaí. We also need a win there. We know their team is strong, playing in Santa Catarina isn't easy, we'll respect our opponent, but we have to go for the win," he said.

The defender gives the recipe for leaving Ressacada with three points: mark tightly and leave no opening for the opponent's quick attack.

"We know we need to win, but it's not that simple. We can't leave any gaps, because their team is very fast, they know how to counter-attack quickly, and we have to be very careful with that type of play," he added.
