With the key turned for the Copa do Brasil, Mais Querido resumes work at the CT
Preparation begins with tactical activity; Berrío, who scored the first goal in the 2-1 victory over Coritiba, gives a press conference.
By Matheus Oliveira - inThe week after their 2-1 victory over Coritiba in the 16th round of the Brazilian Championship, the Mais Querido returned to action at Ninho do Urubu with their hopes of the Copa do Brasil in the spotlight. Preparations for the second leg against Santos in the quarterfinals of the competition began with tactical training.
After the pre-training work carried out at Flamengo's Performance Excellence Center (CEP FLA) and the warm-up on Field 4 of the CT, it was time for ball training. During the activity, in addition to guiding the athletes regarding the opponent's playing style and making adjustments to the team's positioning, coach Zé Ricardo outlined the team that will go to the Vila Belmiro pitch on Wednesday night (26), with the start scheduled for 21:45 pm.
Meanwhile, defenders Léo Duarte and Rhodolfo continued their recovery processes after suffering muscle injuries during the club's 1-0 victory over Vasco at São Januário. Coach Roberto Oliveira led physical and ball-handling activities.
After the training session, Colombian striker Orlando Berrío attended the Victorino Chermont Press Room, where he gave a press conference. Among the topics discussed in his conversation with reporters, the number 28 discussed the decisive match against Santos, emphasizing the importance of the two-goal victory in the first leg.

First match
Winning at home by two goals was crucial. Having that advantage is crucial in these 180-minute games. Now, we have to go to Vila Belmiro to seal our place. We have a good team, and we're going in with the goal of winning the match.
Absences for the confrontation
I think all four players are very good and contribute significantly to our game. We know Everton Ribeiro's class, which helped us a lot in the last match, but Flamengo has players ready when needed. Unfortunately, Everton had the flu in the previous game, and I was ready to play. The most important thing is Flamengo, above any other player.
Sequence
We're thinking about winning every game from now on. We know the responsibility we have in wearing the Flamengo jersey. Our first focus is on Santos and continuing in the Copa do Brasil. From this point on, we need to gain more and more confidence, as it's important to keep winning, whether at home or away.

It's the shortest path; we need fewer games to become champions. Our mindset is to be champions in everything we play. The Brazilian Championship is still open. There are many games left, and there's still a lot to happen. As for the Copa do Brasil, we're thinking of it as the most important championship because it's the next game we have. We're focused on advancing to the next stage and moving on. We have the team for that.
Group strength
All my teammates and I are ready to play. If I'm not, Vinicius, Gabriel, and Thiago Santos, who is recovering, can play. We have to be ready to play in any match. If the coach decides to use me, I'll give my best on the field. That's why he brought me here.
Adaptation to Brazil
I think Brazilian football is very different from Colombian football in terms of intensity. I work daily to keep increasing my pace. It's a gradual process, allowing me to adapt to the style of play and the pace. Most importantly, the group welcomed me very well. If I have any problems, my teammates tell me I can ask for help with whatever I need, on or off the field. That was very important to me.
