With an eye on the Conmebol Libertadores, the squad returns to Ninho do Urubu
Mais Querido faces Independiente Santa Fe this Wednesday
By John Peter Granette - inAfter the debut in the Brazilian Championship, the red-black squad returned on Monday afternoon (16), at Ninho do Urubu. At the moment, all attention is focused on the duel against Independiente Santa Fé-COL, valid for the third round of the group stage of the Conmebol Libertadores.
In the first part of the activities, the group that started the match against Vitória, in Salvador, carried out regenerative work at the Center of Excellence in Performance (CEP FLA), under the command of the club's physical trainers.
Simultaneously, the rest of the squad participated in ball training on Field 4. On the same field, the goalkeepers also trained with Rogério Maia and José Jober, focusing on agility. Initially, the activity included the participation of the Ninho Boys from the U-20 team who play in the position, as well as their coach, Nielsen.
To conclude the first training session of the week, Maurício Barbieri led both offensive and defensive set-piece drills. During the session, the assistant coach of the permanent staff provided guidance and corrected the players' positioning.
This Tuesday (17), fans will be able to support Mais Querido in the open training session that will take place at Maracanã, the venue of the match, at 15 pm. On Wednesday (18), the ball will roll from 21:45 pm.
