Qualification for the Round of 16 of the CONMEBOL Libertadores is already assured, but the match against River Plate (ARG) is crucial for the "Mais Querido" (Flamengo). Playing at the Monumental de Núñez, Flamengo will battle for first place in Group 4 against the home team. Kick-off begins at 9:45 PM.
The Red-Blacks are coming off a solid 2-0 win over Emelec at Maracanã. This Wednesday's opponent was also the team's debut match in the CONMEBOL Libertadores. The first match ended in a 2-2 draw, with the Nilton Santos Stadium gates closed.
In the last training session held at Ninho do Urubu, defender Rhodolfo spoke about the duel against the Argentines, at Monumental de Núñez.
"There will always be pressure. In any competition Flamengo enters, they enter to fight for the title. We felt it was our obligation to qualify. For our fans, for the group, and also for the weight of this Flamengo jersey. We qualified, and the goal now is to seek first place in the group."

Preparations for the game against River Plate are in full swing and the red-black squad has already trained in Argentina. On Tuesday afternoon (22), the group worked at Boca Juniors' training center and Fla TV broadcast live.
