In the first leg of the Third Phase of the Copa do Brasil, Flamengo got off to a flying start and, in a comeback, beat Altos-PI 2-1 on Sunday night (1), at the Albertão stadium, in Piauí. Mengão's goals were scored by Pedro and João Gomes. With the result, Mengão will have the advantage of a draw in the second leg to advance to the next phase.

The game
Flamengo started the match looking to attack. In the seventh minute, Marinho took a corner kick into the box, Bruno Henrique rose higher than the opposing defense and headed the ball down. The ball grazed goalkeeper Marcelo's left post.

In the 18th minute, Pedro received the ball at the edge of the box, cut to the right, and shot. The ball went wide. In the 27th minute, Diego delivered a superb pass to Bruno Henrique at speed. The number 27 cut past his marker and shot toward goal, but the goalkeeper tapped the ball away, preventing Flamengo's first shot. The first half ended in a 0-0 draw.

In the fourth minute of the second half, after a cross from a corner kick, Léo Pereira headed the ball into the box, but goalkeeper Marcelo made the save. Pedro was slow to finish on the rebound, and the defense cleared it. In the 17th minute, Altos opened the scoring!

Bruno Henrique tried to clear a ball into the box, but his clearance was poor. Manoel followed up with a bicycle kick and scored a beautiful goal: 1-0.

Mengão reacted quickly and tied the match in the 20th minute. Bruno Henrique pressured Altos's ball out, cut it out, and delivered a perfect low cross for Pedro to tap in. The score was even at Albertão: 1-1.

In the 33rd minute, the Mais Querido turned the game around! David Luiz took a well-placed free kick, the ball hit the post and crossed the goal line. The Altos defender got tangled up, and João Gomes simply tapped it into the net: 1-2. Five minutes later, Pedro broke free from his marker and unleashed a powerful shot. Goalkeeper Marcelo managed to deflect it, and the ball hit the post. It was almost Mengão's third.

In the final minutes, the red-black team knew how to manage the result and left the field with the victory, celebrating with the fans who filled the Albertão.

Next appointment
The Most Beloved returns to the field next Wednesday (4) to face Talleres, at 19 pm (Brasília time), at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium, in Argentina. The clash is valid for the fourth round of Group H of the Conmebol Libertadores.
