The game
Flamengo started the match taking the initiative and going on the attack. The first good chance for the red-and-black team came in the fifth minute with Thiago Maia, who received a backheel pass from Pedro and took a powerful shot from outside the area. João Paulo made the save.

Flamengo, with its passing game in the attacking third, managed to outmaneuver Chapecoense, mainly through pivot plays involving Pedro and Muniz. In the 26th minute, Everton Ribeiro made a good run down the right flank, entered the box and backheeled the ball to Isla. The full-back crossed low, the ball rebounded off the defense and fell to Everton Ribeiro, who shot first-time wide. Despite Flamengo creating some scoring opportunities, the first half ended 0-0.

In the second half, Flamengo continued to dominate possession and exchange passes in the attacking third, searching for openings in Chapecoense's defense. In the 10th minute, Arrascaeta received the ball on the left, adjusted it to his left foot, and took a placed shot towards the corner, but the ball went out of play.

Three minutes later, the Flamengo team threatened again. Everton Ribeiro crossed to Pedro, who headed the ball point-blank, but the goalkeeper made a great save. In the 21st minute, Chapecoense opened the scoring with Perotti: 1-0.

After falling behind, Flamengo went on the attack and found the equalizer in the 32nd minute. Isla reached the byline and crossed to Pedro, but the ball fell to Arrascaeta, who volleyed it into the left corner of the goal, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance: 1-0.

Minutes later, Flamengo completed the comeback! Michael broke into the area, left the defender on the ground, dribbled past the goalkeeper and pushed the ball into the back of the net to score a fantastic goal at the Maracanã: 2-1. In the final stretch, Flamengo knew how to value possession, managed the result and left the field with an important victory.
