In the penultimate round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo beat Internacional 2-1 on Sunday afternoon (21), at Maracanã. Mengão's goals were scored by Arrascaeta and Gabigol. With the result, Mais Querido took the lead in the championship for the first time, with only one round left until the end of the competition.

The game
The first half began with both teams closely studying each other. Flamengo took the initiative and pushed forward. In the 11th minute, Internacional opened the scoring with Edenílson's penalty, making it 1-0. After the goal, Internacional began to press harder in attack, but Inter managed to defend.

In the 28th minute, Mengão tied the match! Filipe Luís found Bruno Henrique on the left, the striker beat Rodinei, and passed the ball low to Arrascaeta. The Uruguayan slotted it into Lomba's left corner to level the score at 1-1. In the 40th minute, Everton Ribeiro took a shot from outside the box, but the ball went to the goalkeeper's left. The first half ended level.

Early in the second half, Rodinei received a red card for a rough tackle on Filipe Luís. With an extra man on the field, Rogério Ceni took off Isla and brought on Pedro to give the team an even more attacking edge. In the 17th minute, Mengão took the lead! Arrascaeta drove the ball into the middle and delivered a sweet pass to Gabigol. The striker, without controlling the ball, slotted it past Lomba to put Flamengo ahead: 2-1.

With the advantage on the scoreboard, the red-and-black team had more peace of mind to work on attacking plays and better regroup on defense. In the 49th minute, Bruno Henrique still missed a chance from the edge of the box. Based on grit and technical superiority, Mengão left the field with a crucial victory in the fight for the Brazilian title, which will be decided in the final round.
