After a winning debut against Volta Redonda last Wednesday, coach Paulo César Carpegiani once again named 18 players, most of whom come from the youth teams, but with the reinforcement of five athletes from the group that returned on January 13th. Following the coaching staff's plan, Rodinei, Renê, Leo Duarte, Vinicius Júnior and Lincoln join the seven athletes who began preseason training on the 04th, in addition to the players loaned by the U-20 team.
Urubu Island
Youth, speed, and... home field advantage! Last season, Ilha do Urubu was a strong ally for Flamengo in its pursuit of its goals. With over 75% of its points record when playing at its stadium, Flamengo returns to the field this Sunday to face Cabofriense. The team from the Lagos region drew in the opening round with Nova Iguaçu and begins the second round in third place in Group B. Mengão, meanwhile, is joint-top of the group, alongside Bangu.

Flamengo and Cabofriense meet again after two years. In their last meeting, on February 24, 02, in Macaé, Flamengo won with a goal from Felipe Vizeu, his first as a professional.
