Flamengo may face a significant setback in next Sunday's (November 28.11th) match against Cruzeiro in Volta Redonda. Forward Deivid, who suffered an ankle injury in the game against Guarani last Saturday (November 20.11th) and had to leave the field in the first half, may miss the match against the Minas Gerais team. The pain continues to bother the number 99, who will be re-evaluated this Tuesday (November 23.11rd) afternoon when the team returns to training at Ninho do Urubu.

Later on Monday (November 22.11), the player will undergo an imaging exam to get an exact idea of what happened. Deivid explains that the area of the injury became swollen and that he tried to stay on the field longer before asking to be substituted.

"I tried to stay on the field for a while longer, but the pain was too intense. Yesterday (Sunday), my ankle was quite swollen all day, and this afternoon (Monday) I'm scheduled for an MRI to check exactly what happened," he said.

The striker is still unsure if he will be able to recover in time to face the team from Minas Gerais, but prefers not to make any hasty diagnoses. With a full week ahead, he hopes to be recovered by Sunday.

"Because of the pain and swelling, I don't know if I'll be able to face Cruzeiro. But we have almost a week ahead of us and we'll see what happens in the next few days," he added.
