After missing last weekend's clash with Cruzeiro, striker Deivid hopes to be available for coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo to defend Flamengo against Santos in the final round of the Brasileirão. The center forward has been recovering from a right ankle injury since last week and hopes to continue his treatment in the coming days to help the Gávea team in the final stages of the season.

The striker is motivated for the final round. He hopes to face Santos at Vila Belmiro and help Flamengo secure not only the three points but also a spot in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana.

"I spent the weekend in intensive care and even did some physical training. This Monday I'll spend the day again in the medical department and should work with the group in the next few days. I think I'll be able to face Santos on Sunday," he said.

The player emphasizes the importance of Flamengo managing to stay in Serie A. The number 99 regrets that the season fell short of expectations, but is already thinking about a better year next year.

"The pressure was immense, but fortunately the team secured its place in the national elite. Now we can go into the final round feeling more relaxed and then think about next season," he concluded.
