Deivid hopes to score his first goal on Sunday
The striker sees no better time to score than in a classic against Flu
By From the team at Flamengo's official website - inA Flamengo fan since childhood, striker Deivid knows all about the meaning of a derby against Fluminense. After watching many duels during his time as a fan, he now has the opportunity to face the Tricolor das Laranjeiras on the field and hopes to score his first goal wearing the Manto Sagrado in Sunday's match (September 19.09) at the Engenhão stadium.
\Accustomed to playing in big classics and with several titles under his belt, the number 99 remembers that he used to score against another Tricolor, Paulista, when he played in São Paulo, and hopes to have the same luck in the Marvelous City.
\"I haven't played for almost a year and I hope to have a great game and score a goal. Scoring a goal in a derby is different. There's nothing better than scoring a goal in a derby to open the door. I scored a lot of goals against São Paulo. I hope to repeat that against another Tricolor," he said.
\The striker revealed that he is not yet in the best physical and technical shape, but expressed confidence that, with time, he will be able to return to being the Deivid that fans who follow Brazilian football know well.
\"It's been four games and the ball has already hit the post. Little by little it's arriving. I still have difficulty falling to the sides, having strength and sprinting. I hope to win this, which will only happen by playing. I want to play well, with speed," he concluded.
