The adaptation phase is over. Deivid is getting used to Brazilian football again, he's well integrated with his Flamengo teammates, and he's honed his technical skills during his training sessions under Vanderlei Luxemburgo. Now, after being on the bench against Avaí, he returns to the starting lineup with the expectation of playing great football.

The experienced striker acknowledges that he had some difficulties when he first arrived at Gávea, but now believes he can perform even better for Flamengo.

"I think not knowing the players hindered me a bit at the beginning. It really does end up causing a disconnect on the field. That's normal. We're still getting to know each other better, and I always want to be in the best position, in the right place at the right time to help," said the center forward, who acknowledges that he received a great deal of responsibility when he was signed.

"It was a difficult time for the team, needing wins, placing their hopes on me and Diogo. That has improved a bit and I hope it continues like this. Every game is a final. I know we have chances and the conditions to get closer to the leading pack and I hope to come on against Internacional to help the team achieve that," he emphasized.

Already known to Vanderlei Luxemburgo, having worked with him at other clubs, Deivid knows that the coach trusts his football skills and is betting on a good performance against Inter.

"He likes me, my football, and he knows me. He knows exactly what I need. And I know he wants the best for me. That's how I approached my departure from the team. It wasn't a reprimand. I spent five years outside of Brazil and I can say that football here is really very different. That's a hindrance. There wasn't much technical work there, but rather physical work. We forget the flair of Brazilian football abroad," he concluded.
