By Flamengo Archive - inStriker Denis Marques was officially presented by Flamengo this Tuesday in Gávea, as the club's newest addition to the Brazilian Championship and the Copa Sudamericana. The player, who signed a contract until the end of 2010, said he was fulfilling a dream by playing for his beloved club.
"I appreciate the opportunity. I'm very happy and hope to do a good job. My first impression of the club and my teammates was the best possible. Many in Brazil certainly dream of playing here. It was time to return to Brazilian football; I received a good offer and inquiries from other clubs. But because I'm a Flamengo fan, I didn't think twice. I hope to help Flamengo win many titles."
At 28 years old, the former Omiya Ardija (JAP) player spoke a little about his characteristics and praised Adriano and Emerson.
"I don't just sit up front. I also play at speed and really enjoy dropping down the wings. I'll work to earn my place at Flamengo. The club has great attacking players like Adriano and Emerson, and that's a great thing. The Brazilian Championship is long, and we need a good squad."
