The pain of loss remains intense in the minds and hearts of everyone. In memory of the 71 people who lost their lives in the tragic accident involving the plane carrying Chapecoense players, coaching staff and directors, as well as many members of the press, to Colombia, a seventh-day mass was held at CT George Helal after training on Monday (05).

Father Dirceu Rigo, from the São Jorge Parish Church, presided over the Mass held in the training center auditorium. Athletes from the red-and-black squad were present, as well as members of the coaching staff, football director Rodrigo Caetano, several club employees, and members of the club's youth teams. Film crews and journalists who cover the Mais Querido's daily activities also attended the ceremony, mourning the loss of their colleagues, who were also on the flight to cover the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana final.

The families of all the victims of the tragedy were also remembered in the prayers of those present, with wishes for strength and comfort in this time of enormous difficulty. Father Dirceu Rigo emphasized solidarity during the service, asking for the spirit of unity that led so many people to express their support for those who lost their lives and, especially, for those who survived.

This was also one of the vows made by Rodrigo Caetano at the end of the ceremony, thanking everyone present for their prayer chain. At the beginning of the mass, the red-and-black commander, Zé Ricardo, read the Pensionary Psalm, which preceded the parish priest's sermon.

The heroes who honored the colors of Chapecoense will never be forgotten. Their lessons of grit and resilience will forever serve as an example for all.
