When Marcelo Lomba took over as Flamengo's starting goalkeeper, all eyes at Gávea were on him. And what did he do? "I took over in the midst of a whirlwind, under a lot of pressure, and that changed a lot. I wasn't recognized on the street, but today people see me on the street, ask for photos... I really appreciate this affection, after all, I'm a product of the family and I value all of that," he said.
The goalkeeper also took the opportunity to comment on what he's learned from competing in the Brazilian Championship. He also noted that the opportunity to work with Vanderlei Luxembugo has been excellent.
"The only time I felt challenged was in my footwork. I worked hard, tried to improve in this area, and I've been training other fundamentals as well. The experience you gain from matches already makes you improve. I've faced great teams and great strikers. Plus, I learn a lesson every day from Vanderlei. What I learned from him I even take into my personal life," he concluded.
