Rest in peace, Maradona

How wonderful it is to have a number 10 to love and idolize. We have King Zico. The Argentines had Diego Armando Maradona, just like Zico, one of the giants of world football. In fact, they still do, because geniuses never die. Never!
Maradona played two matches against Flamengo at the Maracanã: In 1981, in a friendly between "Mais Querido" and Boca Juniors, a 2-0 victory for Mengão with two goals from Zico. In 1985, El Pibe was part of Zico's Friends Selection in the celebratory match for "Galinho"'s return to the club. A 3-1 victory for the red-and-blacks.
In 1991, in the match between Boca and Flamengo, in Argentina, for the Libertadores, the red-black players entered the field with a banner paying tribute to the Argentine star, Xeneize idol: "Maradona, Flamengo loves you today and always."
Maradona truly changed Argentine football. He raised the bar. He became the greatest there, and in 1986, he led La Albiceleste to the World Cup title, scoring legendary goals. No one will forget "La Mano de Dios." So, God... Welcome Don Diego with open arms!
