Game highlight Everton Ribeiro praises the team's tactical commitment on the field

Everton Ribeiro didn't score, but he left the Maracanã field celebrated as one of the best players in the 1-0 victory over Vitória in the 20th round of the Brazilian Championship this Thursday night. The number seven tormented the Bahia defense on the right flank with runs, passes, long balls, and dribbles—many dribbles, especially against left-back Marcelo Benitez.
After the game, Everton commented on the victory, a narrow result, but completely consistent with what was seen on the field. Flamengo pressured Vitória on their own half and gave their rival few chances. All within the scheme Mauricio Barbieri had set up.
"It was a difficult game where their team tried to close down and catch us on the counterattack. But we were a balanced team, knowing we couldn't give them that weapon. Everton was heavily involved on the field. In addition to four dribbles, he provided three assists, one pass and completed 47 passes. Satisfied with the victory, Everton has already left a message that his thinking has changed and the focus is now on the next challenge, against América-MG, on Sunday (26), at Independência, in Belo Horizonte, at 16 pm.
"The game is over and now we're thinking exclusively about América. Our focus is completely on the Brazilian league. After that, we'll think about Cruzeiro," concluded Everton.
