Day of red-and-black attractions at Footecon
The event will feature lectures by members of Flamengo's technical committee this Tuesday
By From the official website team - inFlamengo's technical committee will have a major role in Footecon, the most important gathering of the "national football industry." The event, organized by Carlos Alberto Parreira, is in its seventh year and annually brings together key professionals, including sports directors, government officials, specialized media, investors, and sponsors, for lectures and discussions dedicated to the sport and its management.
\The 2010 edition kicks off this Tuesday (December 07.12th) at the Copacabana Palace, with around twenty lectures. The workshops cover a wide range of topics, from the youth national team, led by coach Ney Franco, to an analysis of the success of Barcelona, one of the best teams in the world today, conducted by Carlos Alberto Parreira. Among them, there will be many Flamengo appearances. The team from Flamengo's official website is on hand to cover the event.
\In the morning, physician José Luiz Runco, from Flamengo and the Brazilian national team, will discuss the impact of the Brazilian calendar on players' technical and physical performance with Muricy Ramalho and Antônio Carlos Gomes. In the early afternoon, Dr. Runco will also open the VII Footecon medical meeting. Serafim Borges, also a Flamengo physician, will discuss the PCMA pre-participation evaluation.
\Afterward, names like Sergio Cabral, Márcia Lins, Parreira, Carlos Arthur Nuzman, Ricardo Teixeira, Fabio Koff, and João Havelange officially open the event. In the late afternoon and early evening, new red-and-blacks take center stage. Coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo and Gávea's eternal number 10, Zico, speak with Galvão Bueno and Dorival Junior about the return of Brazilian artistic football.
\The event concludes with two important lectures by members of Flamengo's coaching staff. Physiologist Paulo Figueiredo will address the topic "Climate Conditions and Football," while psychologist Paulo Ribeiro will discuss the importance of psychology in sports.
