To maintain its lead in the Brazilian Championship, Flamengo will host Bahia this Thursday afternoon (31), at 16 pm, at Maracanã. Before the last training session at Ninho do Urubu, goalkeeper Diego Alves gave a press conference and spoke about the good moment that the Flamengo defense has been going through.
"The defensive aspect has improved noticeably in recent games. We've made significant adjustments over the past few months. When you have defensive consistency, confidence increases. That's a great credit to Maurício. We won't have many chances in every game. The numbers are in our favor in this regard."
The number 1 jersey holder also discussed the upcoming match against the Bahia team, which will be valid for the eighth round of the Brazilian Championship.
"Let's keep our feet on the ground, because we know the difficulties and we'll take it game by game. We know the importance of winning the three points on Thursday and also arriving at the World Cup break leading the competition to have peace of mind in our work."
Finally, the goalkeeper commented on the strength the team receives from the fans during home games.
"The support of the fans is fundamental. When the fans and the team are united, it's another factor in achieving results. We are improving with each game. There will be matches where we don't play so well, and in others we will play better. The important thing is to stay on top. We will maintain our focus and concentration. There can be no complacency or the thought that everything is already resolved. We will do everything we can to get a positive result tomorrow and remain at the top."
