With a performance below expectations, especially in the first half, Flamengo was defeated 4-0 by Fluminense in the classic this Sunday (24). After the final whistle at Arena Pantanal, in Cuiabá-MT, Diego Alves spoke to journalists and analyzed the match.

"Fluminense played a good game. When we step onto the field, regardless of whether it's the kids or not, it's Flamengo who are in the game. We can't give that impression, especially given the apathy in the first half, which I think was a key factor in the final result," he commented.

When asked about individual mistakes, the red-black number 1 highlighted the collective aspect of the game in general, both in victories and defeats. 

"We don't have to blame anyone; that doesn't exist. Everyone wins, everyone loses," he emphasized, apologizing to the Mato Grosso nation for the result. "I'd like to apologize to the fans who came here to watch a good game, and, in truth, we didn't make it. It was a day when things didn't go well. It happens, and may it serve as a learning experience for all of us, especially the kids," he added.

From now on, the focus turns to the debut of Mais Querido in the Conmebol Libertadores Bridgestone. This Wednesday (28), at the Nilton Santos stadium, it will be their turn to face the Argentines from River Plate, with the ball rolling from 21:45 pm.
