At the end of another day of preparation for the next red-black challenge in the Brazilian Championship, Diego Alves appeared at the Victorino Chermont Press Room, at Ninho do Urubu, to give a press conference. "We hope to win, even though the odds are against us. We also managed to win against Chapecoense. We have to approach this game with high motivation so we can leave Curitiba with the three points, which is our goal," he said, discussing the squad options. "We don't know who will play yet. We're waiting. Concentration is crucial right now, and we'll do everything we can to ensure all our players give their best."

One of the possible absences for the match is midfielder Diego, called up by Tite for the Brazilian national team's friendly against England, played at Wembley Stadium. The goalkeeper emphasized the continuity of Brazilian Championship matches during international matches, a standard not adopted in other countries.

"It's our schedule. In Europe, there aren't any rounds, and here, unfortunately, we do. It will depend a lot on Diego's condition. As a player and as a person, he's a very important athlete for our group. He's talented and experienced. He's a leader for this team. I hope he arrives in good condition and we can take advantage of him," he said.

With the Mais Querido entering the final stretch of the season, the club's number one anticipates tough matches until the end of the year. However, he emphasizes his full focus on the upcoming challenge. After training this Wednesday, the club will travel to Curitiba, where they will face the team from Paraná at the Couto Pereira stadium.

"We're talking about four wins, but we don't know about the other teams either. We'll wait and see what happens. It's hard to predict situations. The 'if' is difficult to answer, whether positive or negative. Now we have to think about Coritiba. We'll do everything we can to get this win. Right now, it's important to stay focused on Thursday's game," emphasized Diego Alves.
