Having put in a solid performance against Fluminense at Maracanã, Diego Alves made important saves in the first half and prevented early goals. The goalkeeper's workload eased as the match progressed, but it wasn't enough for "Mais Querido" to secure victory in the derby.

The goal conceded by the number 1 was due to a mishap by full-back Pará, who attempted to cut out a cross from the left flank of the opposing attack and ended up sending the ball into the net.
