Goalkeeper Diego Alves renewed his contract with Flamengo this Friday. The contract now runs until December 2021. In a video posted on the Mais Querido's social media, Paredão sent a message to the nation.

"I'm here to announce my contract renewal. Another year wearing this Sacred Mantle. To be able to extend this victorious bond with all of you. To say that today I'm where my heart desires. I'm very happy, I hope we have another year of victories and achievements, and that we can meet again as soon as possible at a packed Maracanã stadium, so we can all celebrate together," said Diego.

Diego Alves arrived at Flamengo in July 2017. With the Sacred Mantle, he played 158 matches with 92 wins, 36 draws and 30 losses. With Diego Alves, Mengão returns to the field this Sunday at 18:15 PM to face Bahia at Maracanã in the Brazilian Championship. The match will be broadcast live on Fla TV. Pre-match coverage (with video) begins at 16:15 PM.
