After the 1-0 defeat against Grêmio on Thursday night (13), midfielder Diego spoke to the press at Ilha do Urubu. Citing the volume of chances created by Mais Querido, the number 35 lamented the defeat, but stated that the team fought hard for the result.
"Our goal wasn't achieved. We did everything we could to get this result. We played hard, played good football, and created plays, but we weren't efficient. We're sad we didn't get this victory, but we have to keep trying, because that's how we'll win again," said Diego. For the star, the team created many opportunities, but the only thing missing was the ball going in.
"The chances we created were clear. We hit the post, hit the target with most of our shots, had crosses that went very close, and had headers on goal. We broke through Grêmio's defense and managed to get them involved, but we lacked that precision in our finishing," the player added.
