The draw in the away debut wasn't a bad result, considering the conditions of the match. Flamengo took the lead after just 16 seconds with a beautiful goal from Lucas Paquetá. But in the 10th minute, they suffered a double blow that would change the pace of the match. Referee Wagner Reway awarded a non-existent penalty to Vitória. Rhayner took a shot, but the ball hit Everton Ribeiro in the face, but Reway awarded the penalty and sent off the Flamengo player. Vitória equalized, and the "Mais Querido" needed to find its feet again, which ended up balancing the game, which had been favorable.

After the game, Diego spoke about the situation and spoke with Wagner Reway about the incident and praised the team's spirit, which managed to earn a point away from home.

"We talked about it at halftime. We're committed to winning, overcoming everything. You saw the refereeing, you can comment. I prefer to believe it was an unconscious error. The linesman said he was sure he saw the handball. We didn't come away with three points, but we're proud of what we did in that situation," said the number 10.

Scorer of Flamengo's second goal, captain Réver left the field with a speech similar to Diego's.

"We questioned it all the time. At halftime, they said he touched Everton's face. But it happened very quickly. On the field, sometimes we have to help. Unfortunately, we have to value the draw. A lot of time with a man down. Rest, because we have an important game on Wednesday. He asked for help too. There was the issue of the video. And many teams voted against it. Any help we can give the referee is valid. So he doesn't always get blamed for everything," concluded Réver.

Flamengo returns to the field for the Brazilian Championship next Saturday (21), at 19 pm, at Maracanã, against América Mineiro. But, before that, for the Conmebol Libertadores, the team faces Santa Fé, Wednesday (18), at 21:45 pm, also at Maracanã.
