"There's nothing more satisfying for fans than meeting their expectations. The atmosphere was wonderful. I need to thank the people of Cariacica once again. The pitch was great, it was a special day, and they deserve to celebrate. This title is for them. All teams enter with the same goal. We're managing to maintain a very good level. It's time to celebrate with our feet on the ground, because we still have room to improve," said Diego.
When asked about the lessons learned from last season and expectations for 2018, the midfielder commented that he expects positive things. "Last year wasn't what we expected, but when I look back, I take away the positives. We can't regress; we have to learn from each defeat. We're happy and confident for a great season," he concluded.
The next red-black challenge will be on Wednesday (21), at 19:30 pm, when Flamengo faces Madureira at the Nilton Santos stadium. The match is valid for the first round of the Taça Rio.
