Flamengo achieved their fifth victory in eight matches in the Brazilian Championship and are leading the national competition. On Thursday afternoon (31), Mais Querido beat Bahia 2-0, with goals from Diego and Lucas Paquetá.
After the match, the number 10 spoke about the importance of remaining at the top of the competition and praised the strength of the Nation, which once again put on a show at the Maracanã.
"We achieved our immediate goal, which is to remain in the lead. It was a difficult game with an excellent first half, but the second half wasn't as good. We had some unnecessary scares. Overall, the team performed well. The fans put on a great show and the atmosphere was wonderful. We all deserve congratulations."
With no time to rest, Mais Querido will face Corinthians next Sunday (3), at 16 pm, again at Maracanã. Diego previewed the match against the São Paulo team.
"A very difficult game. We have to face this marathon of games and of course it's not ideal, but it's the reality of our schedule. Preparation starts now. We have to recover and without a doubt we will be ready to achieve victory."
