Number 10 Diego returned to the team this Sunday, in the 3-2 defeat to Chapecoense away from home, with a good performance, lots of movement and playing the full 90 minutes. The midfielder's last match had been in the victory over Ceará on April 29th (3-0). Even with a slower pace, Diego was present throughout the game, taking risks, orchestrating plays and looking for the best opportunity to put his teammates in front of goal. In the second half, he combined with Marlos and the Colombian almost got to the ball before goalkeeper Jandrei.

The result wasn't the best, but for Diego, personally, the return was worthwhile. However, the player wasn't satisfied with the away defeat which, while it didn't knock Flamengo out of the lead, left the "Mais Querido" (Most Beloved) team with Corinthians and Atlético Mineiro close behind.

"E"I'm happy to have been able to return in a short time; I worked hard to make that happen. I felt good. Obviously, as the games progress and with training, I'll easily reach 100%, but today I was ready to play. The result wasn't what we wanted, and I'm not satisfied with that," said the number 10, who asked the team to learn from the match for the decisive game on Wednesday against Emelec at the Maracanã.

"We don't have time to lament. There is dissatisfaction, yes. Today is a day to digest the defeat and get up quickly, so that the mistakes made today are not repeated. And, without a doubt, we will arrive on Wednesday very well prepared."

Defeat is always bad, but Diego observed that some points can and should be studied, mainly aiming at improving the team in the next match, as well as throughout the season. For the midfielder, aggressiveness will improve even more.

"In terms of efficiency and movement, we can take advantage (of the game). They dropped their two lines of four quite a bit to defend. We had more possession, but we lacked a bit more depth. In the second half we did that better. We can improve and we need to stay focused," analyzed Diego, guaranteeing that today's result doesn't change anything in the preparation for Wednesday. It's not this stumble today that will change anything. The team is on an upward trajectory. We are prepared and will arrive at the next game strong and ready to achieve a good result. We have a very qualified squad and players who individually can make a difference. We continue to be a dangerous team and we proved that today. Despite having conceded... three "We had the opportunities and we scored two goals. We have our style of play," he concluded.
