Diego scored again and was once more a key player in the victory over Paraná Clube this Sunday at the Maracanã, in the 11th round of the Brazilian Championship. The triumph puts Flamengo in the lead with 26 points, with no chance of losing the position before the World Cup break.
The path to victory began with a free kick in the 20th minute. Number 10 took the shot, the ball deflected off the wall and deceived goalkeeper Thiago Rodrigues. It was the signal for three more points, but without letting the excitement get to his head. For Diego, it was another victory, yes, but there's a long road ahead.
"It was a very important victory. Just like the others, and from now on it will be like this. We have to stay very focused, without failing to enjoy these moments," said the player, who scored his third goal in the Brazilian Championship, his thirty-first with Flamengo.
The spectacle in the stands, with 59.488 fans, thrilled the star player. Flamengo boasts the highest average attendance in the Brazilian Championship and once again filled its stadium for the game. For Diego, this synergy is making all the difference in the matches. Five wins and one draw, in the derby against Vasco. Diego doesn't hold back when speaking about the fans present in the stadium.

"Playing at the Maracanã has become increasingly special. The fans have been putting on a show, and that helps us a lot. So we have to work to maintain this atmosphere to keep winning. The fans are fundamental to our journey. Our goal is to do our best to win and repay the affection they have shown us," he concluded.
