Striker Diego Maurício is in excellent form. Gaining the confidence of coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo and establishing himself as a starter for Flamengo, he renewed his contract with the club for another five seasons earlier this week. Satisfied with the extension of his contract with the club that launched his career, the center forward knows that the new contract only runs until 2015, but warns that, if Flamengo wants him, he will play his entire career wearing the sacred jersey.
At 19 years old, the center forward has always stood out in the youth categories and has never hidden his desire to fulfill his dream of moving up to the professional level and shining in the senior team. Now that he is taking his first steps in the youth ranks, he assures that he will continue working hard in pursuit of his place.
"I'm very happy with this recognition, but I know I still have a lot of work to do to stay in the first team. Of course, I'm very satisfied with all of this. I signed until 2015, but it could have been until 2025. If the club wants, as far as I'm concerned, I'll play here my whole life," he said, smiling.
The striker also praised how everything turned out and celebrated the fact that things in his life were going so well.
"The way everything happened, how the board handled it, also made me very happy. The negotiation was very well conducted, my personal life is also very good, and I thank God very much, who has been blessing me and making all this possible," Diego added.
