Humble, calm, and a homebody. Despite being in the so-called "prime of life," 19-year-old Diego Maurício isn't dazzled by fame and success. He keeps his feet on the ground, his friends and family close, and his dream of putting Flamengo at the top of Brazil, America, and the world. A product of the youth academy, he identifies strongly with the Flamengo fans and wants to bring the Nation and his family to support the team in Volta Redonda for Sunday's (November 28.11th) game against Cruzeiro.

Delighted with what the fans did at Engenhão, Diego wants a similar celebration in the Steel City. Even if it means bringing his own family. He promises to even try to rent a van to have close by those he loves and who are always watching and cheering for his success.

"There are a lot of family members here. You can't count them on one hand. I'm going to try to rent a van. If I can find some money, I want to take my family to the game. It's worth it. They are the people who help me, who have always done everything to help me, they've done their best for me. I have good memories of Volta Redonda, of the game against Atlético-GO. It was packed. I want to call on the fans, that they can come. I'm sure they will participate," said the player, who remembers that in 2009 he was at the Maracanã watching the sixth title.
\
"I was thinking the other day. At this same time last year, I was at the Maracanã, at the game against Goiás, as a fan, in the stands, screaming like crazy for Flamengo's victory. A year later, four or five months as a professional, all this is happening to me. I'm happy with the work I've been doing. Sad that we're in this relegation zone. But I have to work to get out, think long-term," he observed.
\
"Drogbinha" also assures that, soon, he wants to fight for even bigger things within the club.
\
"I always think about helping Flamengo in any circumstances. Of course, I wanted to start with titles. I'm going to work for Sunday's game, which is a crucial game for our future. Whether I can help with goals or not. We haven't entered the relegation zone yet, and I hope we don't. I want Flamengo to fight for the Libertadores, for the Club World Cup. That's where Flamengo belongs," he concluded.
