Diego Maurício wants a strong team on Wednesday

Striker believes second half against Corinthians could serve as inspiration for Flamengo

Flamengo failed to beat Corinthians on Wednesday (October 27.10) at Engenhão Stadium. And the draw at home against one of the Brasileirão title contenders taught the red-and-black team some lessons. The first is that there's no room for irregularity in the competition's matches. And the second is that will is as important as technique in this final stretch.

That's why striker Diego Maurício wants the team to sweat blood in next week's match against Ceará. In a direct clash, he believes the team must give its all to secure three important points at Castelão.

"We have to maintain the same attitude we had in the second half of the game against Corinthians. We changed our character, changed our positioning, and had the opportunity to score the second goal. We deserved the win, but one point is better than none. Now we're going to look for that victory away from home," he said.

Number 49 remembers that Vanderlei Luxemburgo's decision in the locker room was fundamental, but says that, in addition to tactics and technique, it is essential that Flamengo also has an advantage in the psychological aspect.
.
"The team wasn't doing well, letting Corinthians play. Deivid and I were getting into trouble, especially given the limited training time we had with the system. Then, at halftime, Luxemburgo asked us to change the formation, he brought on Marquinhos, and we managed to equalize. But beyond that, we started with more desire," he added.
