I don't believe in luck, but in hard work. We are working very hard and deserve to reap the rewards," said the player, who explained that the preparation for this game was intense.
"We stayed focused for two days before the game, we talked a lot and we knew we had to go for the win. We want to help Flamengo get out of this situation. The coach gave us peace of mind and we did our job," he noted.
A Flamengo fan at heart, Diego was at the Maracanã last year celebrating the sixth championship title from the stands, and today he wants to help the team overcome its difficult situation in the competition so he can dream of a 2011 with his first professional titles.
"I've been here since the beginning of my career and I thank everyone who helped me get here, but I still have a lot to do. My dream was to be fighting at the top, to give this wonderful fanbase a lot of joy, and I hope that for next year. But first we have to think about this year, about playing good games and keeping the team in Serie A," he concluded.
