Goalkeeper Diego is one of the most capped Flamengo players in the current squad. A starter in the 2006 Copa do Brasil triumph, the number 20 will be the Flamengo's starting goalkeeper on Sunday against Internacional at Beira-Rio. According to the goalkeeper, his lack of rhythm isn't a concern for Flamengo's next challenge in the Brazilian Championship.

"I think on the positive side. Lack of rhythm is part of football. I have to overcome it in training, dedicating myself fully. When the ball starts rolling, the important thing is to stay focused on the game. There's a very productive exchange between the goalkeepers. Bruno passes on a lot to me because he's playing, and that will be important when I get on the field. I'll work hard to have a great performance. I think it's great to be able to play in a match like this, a decisive and important one. Everyone here trusts me, and that gives me the peace of mind to put on a great performance on Sunday."
