On Friday afternoon (30), after the rout over ABC, captain Diego Ribas spoke to the press at CT Ninho do Urubu and praised the work being developed by coach Renato Gaúcho. Check out some excerpts from the press conference:

Renato Gaucho

"The relationship has been excellent. I'm pleasantly surprised. Renato's career speaks for itself; he's a successful coach. But he's exceeding expectations. He communicates directly. It feels like he's been here for years. He has substance and this management aspect, which is managing to make the players feel confident. We're very happy and satisfied with him. We're here to make his ideas work in the best possible way."

Winning streak
"We have a mindset that means victory goes far beyond three points. It's a matter of mentality, of consistency. Regardless of the opponent, we have a way of playing, and we need to respect the club's DNA. While we're here, we'll make the most of every opportunity."

Comparison between Renato and Jorge Jesus
"I have enormous gratitude and respect for Jorge Jesus. I'm a fan of his, I love him. Renato Gaúcho is building his story at Flamengo. So far, what they have in common are victories, good football, and the ambition to win. Time will tell the similarities or differences. The most important thing is to have the winning DNA, which suits this club."

Post-retirement plans
"Flamengo is involved, and that won't change. It's part of my life. We're taking a coaching course. Filipe has already finished, I'm taking it, and Arão is too. I love soccer and I love learning. Right now, it's not something I take for granted. I'm pursuing speaking engagements, and my book will be ready soon. I really enjoy taking my story as an athlete to the corporate world. I want to keep learning about coaching. It's a possibility, but not yet a reality like Filipe Luís, who will certainly be a great coach."

Change of position
"Arão was one of the people who helped me most with this positional change. He's a very intelligent player, it's easy to play alongside him. My adaptation has been sensational. I really enjoy new challenges, reinventing myself, and continuing to be important to the team. I have my position, my importance, but it's very easy to play with these players. I'm super comfortable in my position on the field. I believe the more I play there, the better I'll get."
