Diego says he's happy with his individual form at Flamengo.

The striker, however, would like the team to be in a more comfortable position in the Brazilian Championship.

Forward Diego Maurício has had a rapid rise in Flamengo's first team. The number 49 has always been considered a great prospect from the Rubro-Negro youth ranks, and now he is striving to improve every day. After scoring an important goal against Guarani, he hopes to maintain his good form and continue helping the Gávea team in the fight for a place in the 2011 Copa Sudamericana.

The striker has four goals this year and is one of the team's bright spots this season. He, of course, doesn't hide his satisfaction with his individual form, but reveals that he would like the team to be in a more comfortable position in the Brazilian Championship.
\
"I've already scored four goals; there are people who go the whole year and don't score any. I'm very happy. Of course, I wanted to move up to the first team in a better situation; Flamengo isn't a team to fight against relegation. We wanted to fight for the Libertadores and Club World Cup titles. I hope that happens next year. I want a title at the professional level," he said.

In good spirits, Diego promises a creative celebration, like the one from last weekend, if he scores a goal next weekend. He also emphasizes, however, that it's necessary to wait for Vanderlei Luxemburgo's decision regarding Flamengo's lineup.
\
"I usually chat with the kids from the youth academy, messing around and practicing some dances. I'm going to prepare a special dance for Sunday, but we'll have to see if I'll be playing. I believe Deivid will be ready, but it's important to be ready to play," he concluded.
