In the locker room during the halftime break between the first and second half of the game between Flamengo and Ceará, coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo had a private conversation with his forwards, Deivid, Diego Maurício, and Diogo. He spoke especially with the latter two. Wanting to implement a formation with three more advanced players in the starting lineup, Luxemburgo needs more movement up front, something he hadn't seen up to that point.

The "dressing down," according to him, worked and the team improved a bit in the second half. Striker Diogo also thinks so. Asked by journalists upon Flamengo's arrival in Rio de Janeiro this Thursday (November 04.11th) if he was upset by Luxa's statements, the striker said no. On the contrary, he sees the coach's reprimands as constructive criticism for the future.

"I really think Diego and I lacked a bit of movement. We were attackers, that's what we were there for. We'll work to avoid that in the future," said the player, who doesn't know if the formation will be maintained in the next round.

"If you look at the players, they have quality. In this game, there was a slight lack of movement. Luxemburgo hasn't said anything yet (about whether he'll keep the same player), but the game against Atlético-PR is super important and everyone will certainly do their best to give Flamengo the victory," he observed.

The number 43 player also believes that the so-called 3D attack lacks a bit of cohesion. According to him, with more training, the team will be able to perform better.

"I also think we still lack a bit of cohesion; we've had very little time to train with this formation. Perhaps next week, with more training, we can improve a little more," he added.
