Diogo wants to get back in good form against Atlético Mineiro.
The striker hopes to score goals and help Flamengo win a crucial match in the Brazilian Championship.
By From the official website team - inOne of Flamengo's hopes for a goal in the match against Atlético Mineiro, on Saturday (November 13.11th), in Sete Lagoas, is the young Diogo. Signed on loan from Olympiacos, Greece, the center forward has already struggled with injuries and also with readjusting since arriving at the Gávea team, but now believes he is in better shape and ready to seize this new chance to start playing.
Confident, Diogo knows he needs to showcase his talent in this final stretch of the Brasileirão and wants to start doing so this weekend. Aware that the fans have great faith in his potential, the number 43 hopes to score and help the team from Gávea achieve a positive result in Minas Gerais.
"My debut was very good, then I had a dip in form because of an injury. After that, I played some good games. I hope to do well again against them, but with goals. My physical condition is better, I'm more adapted, so I hope to improve," he said.
The striker also mentioned that coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo is looking for the best possible formation for Flamengo's attack, testing various possibilities, such as a more mobile duo, like the one formed by him and Diego Maurício.
"Deivid played, Val Baiano played... Vanderlei is opting for this formation, but he changes it depending on the game. We're not a penalty area team, but we'll try to move around a lot and give their defense a hard time to create scoring opportunities," he added.
