Flamengo's standout player in the last two rounds of the Brazilian Championship, striker Diogo has already proven he can be a valuable asset to the team. Due to an injury, he sprained his left ankle and did not travel with the Flamengo delegation to Uberlândia, where the team faces Cruzeiro this Wednesday (September 01.09st), to receive treatment. And he's making good progress.

In an interview with Flamengo's Official Website, Diogo was very optimistic this Wednesday and already intends to train with the group on Friday (03.09), where it will be decided whether he will be available to coach Silas.

"I've improved a lot. From yesterday to today, the swelling in my ankle and the bruise have gone down a lot. Tomorrow (Thursday – 02.09), I'll work at the gym and then I'll put on my boots to train with the group. I hope I don't feel anything so I can help the team against Santos," said Diogo, explaining how he got injured in the match against Guarani.

"It wasn't a blow. The problem was the uneven grass at Brinco de Ouro. When I went to run with the ball, I ended up catching my foot and twisting it," he concluded.
