Flamengo and Peñarol leaders meet on the eve of the Conmebol Libertadores clash

On Tuesday night (02), the directors of Flamengo and Peñarol participated in a welcome dinner, a common practice in the Conmebol Libertadores. The president of the Uruguayan team, Jorge Barrera, received a special plaque from Luiz Eduardo Baptista, VP of external relations.
In addition to BAP, the red-black delegation was formed by the football director, Carlos Noval; the director of external relations, Cacau Cotta; the communications manager, Leonardo André; and also the marketing and external relations analyst, Yuri Palopoli.
After dinner and conversation with Uruguayan leaders, Luiz Eduardo Baptista, vice president of external relations, highlighted the importance of this reception for the opponents who arrive in Rio de Janeiro to face Flamengo.
"This process of being kind to foreign clubs is crucial, especially in such an important competition as the Libertadores. You disarm people off the field and create a favorable environment for you to arrive and play in other countries. It's a completely different competition, and you have to excel everywhere. We welcomed the Peñarol delegation here and treated them well, but on the field, things are different. We hope to find a hospitable environment in Montevideo off the field, so the players can have the peace of mind to perform on the field. This work is important for developing relationships and paving a smooth path for when the team plays away."
Juan Susena, director of Peñarol's first division and also of the club's youth divisions, thanked Flamengo for their welcome and spoke a little about the conversation with the red-black directors at dinner.
"We received an invitation from Flamengo to dinner, and they welcomed us very warmly before the match. It's an honor for us to participate. We took the opportunity to strengthen the relationship we already have with the club. We've already started an exchange program at the youth level. We met some directors and also participated in international tournaments against Flamengo."
Juan made a point of praising Flamengo's greatness and praised the work being done within the club.
"It's important to exchange information with clubs from other countries, always focusing on clubs that are leading names in different parts of the world. In Brazil, Flamengo is the most representative club, and we're very interested in learning about the work they're doing. Flamengo is also a global leader, and this opportunity was very important."
